Open to all Coachella Valley K-6th kids: locals and visitors.

Levels: Novice, Beginning, and Intermediate.

Group instruction in a diverse and multigrade class.

Minimum amount of students to run the camp: 10 campers per week

Teachers:

• Mrs. Yipsy De Armas, bilingual certified teacher. Native Spanish speaker. Master's degree in Spanish and Bachelor's degree in Education. 23 years of experience.

• Mrs. Ivanna Castro, bilingual teacher. Native Spanish speaker who holds a Bachelor's degree in Education. 6 years of experience.

Teachers are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with boosters.

Description: Campers will learn Spanish through games, songs, outdoor play, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, and performances. Spanish will be used to start building conversations on a variety of topics: greetings and farewells, introduce yourself, talk about where you’re from, describe a few of the characteristics of people, places, and things in the world around you, and ask questions to get the information you need. Bilingual teachers will implement a final Spanish project to enhance their conversation, grammar, listening, writing, and reading skills.

Method: Experiential (project-based) and communicative to improve the kid’s conversational skills towards fluency.

Media: Face-to-face using Spanish in the kid’s real-life environment: family, animals, pets, school, etc.

Materials: textbook, workbook, audios, and videos according to the Spanish curriculum and program.

Resources: Unlimited access to the Spanish e-learning platform, bilingual dictionaries, translators, and verb conjugators.

Weekly Tuition: $345 per champer for Week 1, $278 per camper for Week 2.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Late fee policy: $1 per minute after 3:01 pm.

Meals: NO AM/PM snacks or lunch will be provided. Students should bring their own snacks, lunch, water bottles, and hand sanitizer.

Registration and Agreement form: After enrolling the child(ren) here, parents will receive via email a PDF form to be filled out and signed. The academy must receive the registration before the child(ren) start the program. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter!

******A face mask is not required by students and parents but is highly recommended. However, teachers might wear a mask or face covering during the instruction. Cleanliness and sanitation of the classroom/equipment are performed daily. Hand sanitizing stations in the classroom and playground.
